Geographical Location
The Oriental Republic of Uruguay is located in South America, having borders with Brazil to the Norte and Northeast and to the west, with Argentina separated by the Uruguay River. In the south it has coast on the River Plate and to the southeast it has a long coast on the Atlantic Ocean.

Topography
Slightly ondulated land, crossed by low hills ranges known as cuchillas. Several rivers cross the country, which are of vital importance as ways of communication, supplies of drinkable water and energy generators.
Weather
Mild, with an average annual temperature of 17ºC. It has four different seasons; average temperature in winter 11ºC and in summer 23ºC.

Democratic, republican and representative regime based on a presidential government system, with three independent powers: Legislative, Executive and Judicial. State of Law.
Economy
It is essentially a farming country. Agriculture is another main source of the country’s production (wheat, rice, corn, sunflower, soy, fodder, fruit, specially, oranges, apples and peaches). The main industries of the country derive from farming, agriculture and forestry. Basic exports products are wool, wheat, meat, leather, wood, etc. Service area also stands out in this field (finance, logistics, transports, communications) as well as computing (in particular, software development).
The tourism industry is a key item in the national economy. Uruguay has a coastline on the River Plate and Atlantic Ocean giving rise to a large number of seaside resorts of great interest to tourists. For instance, Punta del Este, Piriápolis, La Paloma, among others. In addition, Uruguay offers rural, ecological, thermal, historic and cultural tourism, of great importance to our country.
Educational System
Free compulsory and lay in Primary, Secondary and University Education apart from Private Institutions in all the levels.
Taxation System
The new taxation law of the year 2007 implemented a system of turnover taxes, that is, it created diverse autonomous taxes which are levied on certain sources of wealth: Income Tax on Economic Activities, Individuals Income Tax (which operates as a dual system, that is, they are calculated and paid independently, on the one hand, capital revenues and on the other hand, work income) and Income Tax on Non-Residents. Continuing the trend, rural property and Tourism are encouraged through certain tax exemptions
